Orbit Drive

An original space arcade game designed and built from the ground up — combining a simple one-touch core with characters, progression, challenges, achievements and an expanding multi-device experience.

The project

A small arcade idea that grew into a complete product.

Orbit Drive began with a very simple interaction: move between lanes, avoid danger and dive into the core. The challenge was turning that immediate mechanic into something with enough personality, progression and replay value to feel like a complete game.

The finished product layers multiple drivers, worlds, focused runs, achievements, leaderboards, unlocks and difficulty systems over a core interaction that can still be understood in seconds.

Designed from scratch Original gameplay, visual language, characters, menus and progression systems.
Built for replay Challenges, achievements, unlockable content and competitive Game Center features.
Multi-device product A responsive game experience designed to extend beyond a single phone layout.

Fast, readable gameplay built around lane switching, timing and risk, with unlockable drivers that give progression a visible sense of personality. Focused goals and longer-term challenge systems turn a short-session arcade game into something players can keep returning to.

Original soundtrack

The sound is part of the world.

Orbit Drive was treated as a complete product, not just a gameplay prototype. Its soundtrack helps establish the game's space-arcade identity and gives different parts of the experience their own energy.

Sample a few tracks below — enough to hear the tone without turning the case study into a media gallery.

The result

A complete indie product — designed, engineered and shipped as one system.

Orbit Drive brings together product strategy, visual design, interaction design, game logic, platform integration and release work in a single project — now available at orbitdrive.app across iPhone, iPad and Mac.

For a prospective client, that is the useful takeaway: MX can handle much more than a screen or a landing page when the project calls for a deeper digital product.

Project takeaway

A simple idea becomes valuable when every layer around it feels intentional.

Mechanic, interface, progression, sound and platform all working together.
